Hasbro Gaming Crate

Hasbro brings the subscription service consumer entertainment delivery model to board games with the Hasbro Gaming Crate.

When it comes to modern home entertainment, it’s all about subscription services. If you don’t listen to music on Spotify or Tidal, you most certainly hold some combination of streaming and/or mail order account on Netflix. Even video game enthusiasts have a number of subscription services to keep them up to date with the latest releases. But what if your thing happens to be board games?

Never fear! Hasbro has you covered. For the first time ever, the company has brought the subscription service consumer entertainment delivery model to board games with the Hasbro Gaming Crate.

Subscribers to this service receive a package of three games four times per year. Geared toward dedicated, passionate, and adventuresome players, these games are curated by gaming experts and specifically chosen to follow a particular theme. Gaming Crates are delivered directly to each subscriber’s door every three months, and subscribers are automatically billed when upon shipment.

To better serve specific player demographics, Hasbro currently offers two different Gaming Crate options. The Family Crate contains titles such as Mask of the Pharaoh and other games that have been specifically designed to entertain kids as well as adults. The Party Crate, by contrast, is geared toward college students and other “grown-ups” who haven’t lost their childlike love of play. The first shipment of the Party Crate includes Speak Out: Joe Santagato Edition, an edgier version of the “mouthguard challenge” that has taken popular culture by storm.
