As hinted from its name, the Fujifilm GFX100 features a 100-megapixel backside-illuminated medium format sensor. It’s the first medium format camera to have in-body image stabilization, which makes it also one of the most versatile medium format cameras on the market today. Even with in-body image stabilization (5 and 1/2 stops), it’s still not a camera that you’d want to haul around, but it’s nice to know that it does have that option if you really need to get some handheld shots.
Featuring the highest resolution electronic viewfinder from Fuji, the removable 5.76 million dot OLED EVF can be magnified 24 times for some precision manual focusing action. The GFX100 also features on-sensor phase detection autofocus that’s quite fast, a new and simplified interface, articulating touchscreen LCD, dual SD slots, and 4K video at 30fps. What can we say? Mirrorless cameras have come a long way over the years.
