Ferrari unveiled its latest thoroughbred prancing horse live on all its social media platforms this morning in case you missed it. Ferrari treated the internet to footage of the new Ferrari 812 Competizione flexing its carbon-fiber swagger at the recently-opened GT Sporting Activities Department next to the Fiorano racetrack. Alongside the 812 Competizione, the Ferrari 812 Competizione A – a Targa version!
This new Ferrari builds on the already impressive 812 Superfast and dares to improve a masterpiece. Ferrari’s engineers went through the entire vehicle with a magnifying glass to remove weight, add power, and improve aero. The new Ferrari 812 Competizione is 84 pounds lighter than the standard 812 Superfast. It used the same naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine with mechanical improvements that raise its maximum revs to 9,500 rpm! The Ferrari 812 Competizione and Competizione A produce an eye-widening 820 horsepower mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Capable of hitting zero to 125 mph in less than eight seconds and a top speed of 211 mph.
The Ferrari 812 Competizione is also the first to host new technology and options like all-carbon-fiber wheels. It is the first Ferrari to feature independent four-wheel steering, version 7.0 of Side Slip Control system, and sports the new Michelin Cup2R tires. The 812 Competizione is the Superfast(er) Ferrari. The car’s exterior styling features aerodynamics sharp enough to split hairs. Best of all, Ferrari offers an extended seven-year maintenance program on the Ferrari 812 Competizione and Competizione A. The only decision left to make is choosing which version to buy, coupe or Targa?
