The Ferrari 293 GT3 is the new successor to the 488 GT3. This new race-ready model picks up where the 488 GT3 left off and improves it on every level.

The Ferrari 296 GT3 is based on the production model 296 GTB. It features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 developing an estimated 592-hp and 524 lb.-ft of torque. Compared to the road spec, the 296 GT3’s engine sits lower and farther forward for better weight distribution. In addition, Ferrari developed a new transmission for this car, a six-speed sequential gearbox with a magnesium case and a single-disc clutch. Moreover, the transmission is positioned transversely to improve aerodynamics and weight distribution.

Front and rear wishbones, and tubular steel arms, help cement the racecar to the track, in addition to five-way adjustable dampers allowing for the “widest possible range of settings.” A new set of discs and calipers hide behind 18-inch Rotiform wheels unique to the 296 GT3. Inside, the car’s cabin has been redesigned, featuring an F1-inspired steering wheel and adjusting the driver’s seat to a more optimal location. Ferrari also mentioned that the car’s AC and the airflow provide better ventilation in all conditions.

Another interesting detail of the Ferrari 296 GT3 is its mechanic-friendly construction. Parts on the car are now more accessible and easier to swap out or adjust. The car’s front and rear portions can be switched out in seconds, a valuable feature for rapid repairs during a race. See the new Ferrari 296 GT3’s racing debut in January at the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
