The Experia adventure-tourer is a new electric motorcycle by Italian manufacturer Energica. This new electric motorbike aims to be as capable as its internal combustion engine counterparts while reducing the e-bike’s most significant drawback – range. On paper, the Energica Experia is an electric motorcycle with competitive performance stats and battery life.

The Experia’s max capacity 22.5-kWh (or nominal 19.6-kWh) makes it the largest battery pack offered on a production motorcycle. As a result, the Energica Experia produces a max output of 102 hp and 85 lb.-ft of torque using a single-speed transmission with no clutch. Moreover, its battery range is averaged at 138 miles based on the WMTC (World Motorcycle Test Cycle). The range can be stretched to 261 miles when used in an urban environment at low speeds. A DC fast charger allows the Experia to recharge from zero to 80 percent battery life in under an hour.

Another significant drawback with battery-powered vehicles is weight. However, Energica addresses the issue by keeping the Experia’s curb weight to 573-pounds. Keeping the Experia upright is a 43mm USD forks with adjustable preload, compression, and rebound. In addition, mono shocks in the rear provide the Energica Experia with up to 5.9-inches of travel at both ends. Brembo brakes offer plenty of stopping power, and its 17-inch wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires. Seat height on the Experia measures at 33.3-inches.

Standard electronic features on the Experia include seven riding modes. These ride modes offer four presets (Eco, Urban, Rain, Sport) and three open to customization. The Energica Experia is available to order now.
