When Italian soccer goalkeeper and captain, Gigi Buffon, approached Artisans de Genève with a new challenge, designers knew they had to create something unique. Working with the Rolex 126300 base, artists at Artisans de Genève were able to create a customized watch as individual and spectacular as Buffon himself. The Artisans de Genève x Gigi Buffon project represents the stylistic and technical abilities of the watchmakers and artists at Artisans de Genève, creating a one-of-a-kind, special watch.
The Artisans de Genève x Gigi Buffon watch begins with the base Rolex 126300 watch. A mono-hand was added to show the singularity that personifies Gigi Buffon. The hand-beveled minute hand is flame-blued and has a hand-painted red tip. The dial of the Artisans de Genève x Gigi Buffon watch was further customized with a bi-material dial. The skeletonized movement shows through while allowing the users to read the time between five-minute intervals. The bezel features hand-made “clous de Paris” guilloche finishes as a special nod to Buffon’s career. This contemporary watch features a 3235 caliber movement, customized watch lugs, a beveled plate, polished balance bridge, and sandblasted finish. The blue and red two-tone color theme represents both the stunning victories and several obstacles Buffon has overcome in his long and storied career.
The watchmaking atelier at Artisans de Genève only works to personalize individual timepieces, so their watches are made individually.
