The smallest MacBook Pro now has more room to work inside its familiar aluminum shell. The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 adds processing resources and faster wireless connections without asking creative users to adopt a different form factor.

M6 pairs a 12-core CPU with a 12-core GPU, adding two cores to each compared with the M5 generation. Neural Accelerators in the graphics cores and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine support local AI workloads. Unified memory starts at 16GB and reaches 32GB, with bandwidth up to 170GB/s. Those changes address the less photogenic side of creative work: moving data, processing images, and keeping demanding projects responsive.

The Liquid Retina XDR display retains an optional nano-texture finish and reaches 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness. A 12MP Center Stage camera and six-speaker system handle calls and playback, while three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, SDXC, and MagSafe 3 preserve a useful physical toolkit. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 update the wireless side. Rated battery life reaches 24 hours, depending on use and configuration.

The distinction matters for mobile production: ports, sustained access to project data, and a usable display are part of the working system. A larger core count alone does not describe that experience, and workload-specific gains should not be mistaken for universal speed improvements.
The M6 configuration starts at $1,999 and comes in space black or silver.
