The iMac’s color palette is familiar; the more consequential changes sit behind the glass. Apple’s M6 iMac updates the 24-inch all-in-one with new processing hardware and faster connections, keeping its compact desktop arrangement intact.

The chip scales to a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, with Neural Accelerators in the graphics cores and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Memory bandwidth reaches 170GB/s. For a machine often chosen to simplify a desk, the emphasis is on giving photo editing, video work, and local AI models more resources without adding another enclosure.

The 4.5K Retina display remains central to the design, surrounded by a thin body offered in blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange, or silver. Color-matched accessories preserve that coherent appearance. Connectivity advances to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, with 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet available. Up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports provide wired expansion, although the exact configuration matters.

An all-in-one ties the display and computer to the same purchase. That makes the difference between the two chip configurations a practical decision, especially for a desk that must serve everyday administration and creative work without a separate tower.
The 10-core CPU and GPU model starts at $1,499, while the 12-core CPU and GPU version starts at $1,699.
