The 2024 Mercedes-AMG SL63 coupe makes its debut at Pebble Beach. However, the SL convertible variant has debuted wearing an Orange Flame Metallic exterior paint job. This color hue is part of the Manufaktur Big Sur special edition for 2024.
According to Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur, Orange Flame Metallic is meant to evoke the California sunsets at Big Sur. The special edition package includes this color to the interior with orange contrasting stitching and a diamond quilted pattern in the black nappa leather upholstery. Orange Flame Metallic can also be found adorning the center console and door accents. Other styling details include AMG emblems embroidered on the floor mats and a “Manufaktur” script located on the center console’s storage compartment lid.
Under the hood, the SL63 maintains its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 577 horsepower. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends the V8 power to its all-wheel drive system. Standard equipment includes 21-inch wheels, the Dynamic Plus package, Active Ride Control suspension, and a premium Burmester upgraded sound system.
No confirmation on how many 2024 Mercedes-AMG SL63 Big Sur editions will be available. However, the focus of this car is highlighting the possibility Manufaktur’s customization program can offer AMG customers. Big Sur is one of the three new colors and two leather interior options Manufaktur is introducing to the 2024 lineup. However, the beauty of this program is that if you have the means, you can have your Mercedes-AMG à la carte.
