Trek unveiled the seventh generation of the Madone SLR bicycle, claiming it to be the company’s fastest road race bike yet. The 2023 Trek Madone SLR is the brand’s flagship model, and this new road race bike offers some unique tricks to improve its performance. In addition, Trek claims the new Madone SLR is 10.5-ounces lighter than the outgoing model.
A key feature on the 2023 Trek Madone SLR is a kite-shaped hole in the bike’s seat tube called the “IsoFlow.” Trek claims the IsoFlow helps improve the bicycle’s aerodynamics by “around three watts,” in addition to saving weight. This design feature allows air to flow through the kite-shaped hole while riding, thus reducing the rider’s overall drag. In addition, the 2023 Trek Madone SLR handlebars are narrower by three centimeters, and its tube profiles are slimmer. As a result, Trek claims these weight-saving techniques saved 5.3-ounces from the Madone SLR’s curb weight.
Riders can pre-order their 2023 Trek Madone SLR online, and it’s available in six different builds with five paint options for each one. In addition, the bike’s integrated handlebar is available in 11 different sizes, with stem lengths ranging from 80 to 120 mm and handlebar widths from 38cm to 44cm.
