The BMW iX is the brand’s new technology flagship vehicle, and now BMW has introduced its M-powered variant set to go on sale in the summer of 2022. Meet the 2023 BMW iX M60, a dual-motor sports luxury electric SUV. This new high-performance variant offers more driver assists, a sports package, unique trim pieces, as standard, and an increase in power. But, of course, having more comes at the cost of a higher price tag, which for the iX M60 can be over $100K.
For the money, the 2023 BMW iX M60 receives 21-inch Aero Bi-color wheels (22-inch size is optional), with blue painted M-branded brake calipers. Those wishing to make their iX M60 stand out even further can opt for the Titanium Bronze exterior appearance package. When it comes to performance, the most powerful iX is rated at 496-hp. With the BMW iX M60, the top-tier output has been increased to 533-hp. If Sport Mode is engaged, output goes up to 610-hp and 749 lb.-ft of torque. However, when Launch Control is activated, torque output gets turned to 811 lb.-ft for a maximum attack off the line. BMW has limited the iX M60’s top speed to 155 mph, but before that, it will spring to 60 mph in 3.6-seconds. Although this is a preliminary estimate, its 106.3-kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 280 miles.
Added performance is managed by the BMW iX M60’s double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle. In addition, the electric SUV features adaptive dual-axle air suspension as standard with electronically adjustable dampers. Combined with a set of M Sport brakes and BMW’s Integral Active Steering, you’ve got an electric SUV that’ll hold the road. Standard interior equipment on the BMW iX M60 includes a panoramic LED sunroof, 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system, four-zone climate control, and perforated leather upholstery. The driver manages the controls with the help of BMW Live Cockpit Professional, a curved digital dashboard featuring 12.3-inch and 14.9-inch screens. The 2023 BMW iX M60 is expected to arrive at U.S. dealers in June 2022.
