Here is a chance to own a brand new automotive icon from 1964. This Volkswagen T1 has been restored to museum quality by the masters at Schontges in Braubach, Germany. From hubcaps to roof rack Schontges disassembled the Volkswagen T1 for a full restoration. The 1.5-liter engine, delivering a whopping 43 horsepower, and four-speed manual transmission were rebuilt. Depending on the overall condition the rest of the drivetrain was rebuilt using restored or new parts. The interior’s seven seats were redone and wrapped in grey leather with white stitching. Grey leather was also used on the door cards.

The Volkswagen T1’s dashboard has been tastefully dressed in white along with the steering wheel, shifter knob, and handbrake lever. On the outside the bus was given a beautifully classic two tone paint job in sky blue with white. This particular Volkswagen bus was first registered in July, 1964. Since then the odometer has only recorded 25, 867 miles (41,629 km). What we have here is basically a 60’s icon ready to hit the open road for another 56 years.
