‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Official Trailer 2

The new trailer gives fans a more focused look at the infamous antagonists Venom and Carnage.

The Official Trailer 2 for Venom: Let There Be Carnage has just been released, providing more insights into the sequel expected to release this fall. Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as symbiote and lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL’s greatest and most complex characters. Director Andy Serkis has confirmed that the sequel is set around 1 or so years after the previous film, suggesting that Eddie might have covered Woody Harrelson’s serial killer Cletus Kasady/Carnage as a reporter. The previous trailer, released two months ago, had established that Kasady was to be executed. The nearly three-minute trailer shows Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom attempting to lay down the law with Venom by issuing a list of rules. Meanwhile, Cletus Kasady is ready to indulge in a little Carnage — which prompts Eddie to break the rules and promise Venom he can eat anyone.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will also have new cast members including Naomi Harris who will be playing Shriek, also known as Frances Louise Barrison or Sandra Deel. In the comics, Shriek and Cletus Kasady are romantically involved. The new trailer shows that Kasady, after escaping his execution as Carnage, goes back to Ravencroft Institution to break out Shriek. Ravencroft Institution was where Cletus and Shriek were being kept. In the comics, the New York-based institution is for the criminally insane, like DC’s Arkham Asylum. In another shot from the trailer, the duo can be seen setting fire to the place. The cast also features Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Eddie’s ex-fiancée, Stephen Graham as Detective Mulligan, and Reid Scott as Dan Lewis, Anne’s new boyfriend. The film is slated to debut on September 24th.
