The Weeknd x Blue Bottle Coffee have produced Samra Origins Single Origin Vol. 1 and Samra Origins Single Origin Vol. 2. These coffees are a part of the Samra Origins brand and product line, a collaboration between Blue Bottle, Tesfaye, and his XO record label. The creation of Samra Origins began with Tesfaye and his mother, who embarked on a coffee journey that led to the discovery of nuanced flavor profiles in Ethiopian coffee.
Ethiopia, renowned as the origin of all coffee, is home to diverse coffee regions, each known for its unique flavor profiles resulting from distinct processing methods—natural and washed processing. Samra Origins Single Origin Vol. 1 represents the natural processing method, offering a rich and fruity coffee experience with notes of strawberry, raspberry, and floral aromatics. Sourced from Hambela Estate, this coffee is a testament to Ethiopia’s deep-rooted coffee heritage.
On the other hand, Samra Origins Single Origin Vol. 2 showcases the washed processing method, known for its lighter acidity and citrus notes. This coffee hails from Gedeb, a region famed for producing exceptional washed coffees.
