The update on Sonos’s 2009 amp offers a welcome refresh. Almost a decade later, the new Sonos Amp includes a number of upgrades designed to delight custom integrators and ordinary home users alike. Its two-channel amplifier (125W per channel) powers up to 4 speakers, integrating into the Sonos home system whatever speakers are thrown at it.
Much like other Sonos products, the amp can be controlled on the device itself or by a phone to play audio from almost any music source, whether it’s Spotify, iTunes, Pandora, or another. Adding to its technological prowess, the Sonos Amp can also be controlled via Alexa voice commands with any Alexa-enabled devices. Sonos also plans to roll out Google Assistant support.
