With a retro tennis-inspired look, Reebok is launching another exciting collaboration — the Reebok x Eames Club C Collection. These heritage court-inspired shoes have been designed in collaboration with Eames Office to create a range of shoes informed by iconic 20th-century designers Charles and Ray Eames’ work and paintings. Charles and Ray Eames are best known for their ground-breaking contributions to furniture, architecture, manufacturing, and industrial design, along with the photographic arts. The Collection, which contains four designs, is inspired by the Reebok Club C silhouette, a tennis shoe first released in 1985. Two of the shoes, the Ray Eames Signature Pack, are decorated with patterns taken from Ray Eames’s designs — one is the textile design, Dot Pattern, from 1947, while the other is covered in a reproduction of her “Composition” painting from 1939. The remaining two shoes from the Reebok x Eames Club C Monotone Pack will be offered in black or white.
Some notable features of the Reebok x Eames Club C Collection include a padded foam sock liner, EVA rubber outsoles, lace closures, terry lining on the heel and tongue, and garment leather upper. The shoes will be packaged in a shoebox designed specifically to honor the iconic Eames House, also known as Case Study House No. 8, located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to Reebok, “The collection highlights the rebellious spirit and optimism of the Reebok Club C while complementing the Eameses’ vision of accessible design.” The Reebok x Eames Club C Monotone Pack is available online starting on October 15th and the Ray Eames Signature Pack will be available shortly thereafter.
