An off-road supercar is an all-in-one type of vehicle. It offers high speeds on all-terrain with the exclusivity of a supercar. Prodrive Performance Unlimited has unveiled a new car that aims to check all these boxes. This unique ride is called the Prodrive Hunter, and it is based on the Bahrain Raid Xtreme competition race car used in the world-renowned Dakar Rally, famously driven by nine-time WRC champion Sebastian Loeb. Prodrive categorizes the Hunter as an “all-terrain adventure vehicle.”

Turning a racecar into a streetcar is nothing new. However, the Prodrive Hunter is different in that the production model is faster than its racing counterpart. The Hunter is unrestricted by the competition rule book. As a result, its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 produces 600-hp, reportedly 50 percent more than the racecar. It features a six-speed paddle-shift transmission to be more compatible with regular street use than the competition sequential manual-shift gearbox. Prodrive estimates the Hunter is quick enough to reach 60mph in less than four seconds and fast enough to reach speeds over 180 mph – in the sand.

Standard equipment on the Prodrive Hunter includes a set of 35-inch off-road tires designed to thrive in sandy terrain. It also features a better ground clearance than the race-spec variant with all-around double wishbone suspension and twin adjustable dampers. Its bodywork is constructed from lightweight carbon composite with recycled materials produced by Prodrive Composites, housing a steel space frame.

Even though the Prodrive Hunter is not a racecar, the interior will make you feel like a racer. Lightness is the goal, so the interior features carbon-fiber bucket seats with a six-point safety harness. Interior amenities include a dual fire extinguisher system with a digital display and a center-mounted console to manage controls. The price for this 4×4 supercar stands at over one million dollars (not including tax), but for that price, each Prodrive Hunter is built to the customer’s specifications.
