Pascal Mathieu, a French eyewear brand, has recently dropped a collection of sunglasses dubbed the Pascal Mathieu Big Boss, that draws inspiration from automotive design. Pascal Mathieu offers a product of “the finest savoir-faire for the eyes.” Each pair of glasses is designed by hand and modeled in 3D in small quantities in the company’s workshop in France’s Jura region. The Big Boss collection is comprised of sleek aviators featuring rounded lines in a large silhouette. These distinctive sunglasses feature a frame constructed from 301L brushed stainless steel while other notable aspects include flexible hinges, adjustable nose pads, Cr39 glass lenses, and seven layers of anti-reflective coating.
This limited release features just 100 pieces in each colorway which include copper, black, steel, 18K rose gold, black/silver, steel/silver, black and rose gold, black and space grey, copper and anthracite, black and rose gold and blue and white. For each pair of eyeglasses sold, Pascal Mathieu has committed to distributing 10 reconditioned pairs of sunglasses to remote villages in the Himalayas where 80% of the population living at an altitude just shy of 10,000 feet suffer from irreversible ocular lesions.
