French eyewear brand, Pascal Mathieu, has released yet another limited edition sunglass collection dubbed the 18k Rose Gold Collection. The sunglasses, constructed with frames in warm copper steel and 18k rose gold mirrored lenses, are made by hand in the company’s family-owned workshop in La Chaux-du-Dombief, France. Taking cues from the built-in protection found in astronauts’ face shields, the 18k lenses have seven layers of anti-reflective coating, offering the best protection against UVA and UVB infrared rays.
The Pascal Mathieu 18k Rose Gold Collection is available in five of the brand’s frames including the Aviator, Big Boss, Butterfly, Round, and Breve. With production limited to 100 pieces of each frame style, the sunglasses feature adjustable nose pads and flexible hinges, and are delivered in a leather case. As with all Pascal Mathieu eyewear, for each pair sold the company has committed to distributing 10 reconditioned pairs of sunglasses to remote villages in the Himalayas where 80% of the population living at an altitude just shy of 10,000 feet suffer from irreversible ocular lesions.
