Virgil Abloh’s brand Off-White has released its latest collaboration with Italian brand Ginori 1735. The Off-White c/o Ginori 1735 Collaboration is a limited-edition capsule collection that features a full set of tableware including dinner plates, serving platters, teapot, and teacup and saucer set. Abloh, chief creative director and founder of Off-White, announced the new capsule collection on Instagram, by sharing a handful of iPhone photos documenting the collaboration process, revealing that he “bailed on the gold last minute.” Originally, some of the pieces were designed with a gold rim, but Abloh wrote that “it wasn’t needed for this phase.”
Combining Off-White’s signature contemporary streetwear aesthetic with Ginori 1735’s traditional elements and top-of-the-line design, each piece has a white base, contrasted with a graffiti-inspired Off-White logo in black. Virgil Abloh said in a statement: “This is a collection for the modern dining room – whether formal in a home, a millennial apartment, or simply a dorm room. The imposition of the modernity of a logo and graffiti art with the respected house of Ginori 1735 is proof that good design can live on forever.” This marks the first release between the two luxury brands, with Ginori 1735 stating that a larger partnership will follow in 2022.
