In the wake of its Zoom VaporFly 4% (released last year as the company’s “fastest marathon shoe”), Nike has unveiled the new Zoom Pegasus Turbo. The Pegasus Turbo is the result of input from some of the best runners in the world who wanted a shoe that meets the demands of elite competition while lending itself readily to everyday use.
The Pegasus Turbo employs the same ZoomX foam cushioning as the VaporFly 4%. Nike’s lightest and most efficient foam ever, this material is exceptionally comfortable and delivers 85-percent energy return. For additional comfort and performance, the shoe features Flymesh that hugs the midfoot and arch for a secure fit as well as a heel collar that angles away from the Achilles to eliminate stress on this sensitive tendon. Other key design elements of the Pegasus Turbo include a 10-milimeter offset/12-milimeter forefoot stack height for added energy storage and waffle pistons in the outsole to absorb impact and boost traction on a range of surfaces.
