To celebrate South Korea’s Hangul Day, Nike will issue a special, limited edition Air Force 1 design that is sure to turn heads. Hangul Day celebrates the invention of the Korean alphabet, which originated in the 15th century. The Korean alphabet is easy to learn, with its relatively simple characters and phonetic pronunciations. As such, Korean symbols from the alphabet have landed themselves in mainstream art, celebrated worldwide in different mediums. Nike has taken the opportunity to jump on the mainstream trend introducing a unique, limited edition shoe.
The new shoe design features Korean symbols on the new Nike Air Force 1 ’07 LV8 Hangul Day shoes to commemorate this special day. The men’s shoe is available in a black colorway with characters from the Korean alphabet dotted with bright colors symbolic of the special Korean holiday. The colors are also applied to stylized stitching around the Nike Swoosh, the midsole, and the heel. The shoe’s tongue features a gradient-style version of the Korean colors. The shoe is equipped with Nike air, the innovative technology that makes these kicks so popular. The Nike Air Force 1 ’07 LV8 Hangul Day shoe is expected to be a limited release design in South Korea and the regions around Korea. Hangul Day is celebrated on October 9th, and Nike has confirmed that the shoe will be made available that day.
