Mystery Ranch has added to its impressive line of durable bags with the Mission Hybrid 40L. The material of the bag itself is a waxed 500D Cordura fabric, which is seriously tough stuff. It’s the same grade of nylon that makes up issued plate carriers (body armor) for combat troops. Despite it being constructed with a waxed fabric, it actually has a brushed flannel feel to it, which is a pleasant surprise. The zippers are extremely beefy YKK units, with pull tabs made of parachute cord.
The interior of the Mystery Ranch Mission Hybrid 40L consists of several separate compartments for your essential gear. The large compartment is plenty big for socks, underwear, several t-shirts, and pants. The smaller compartment is essentially a zippered mesh keeper for smaller items like toiletries. The other side of the smaller compartment has its own zippered opening with a more traditional “briefcase” interior — pouches for documents, and a specific microfiber-lined location for a tablet.
