Mercedes-AMG announced a special edition variant of the SL 63 roadster to celebrate the end of the 2022 Formula 1 season. This new variant of the SL 63 is called the Motorsport Collector’s Edition and is limited to 100 units globally. Besides the exclusivity, these 100 collector’s edition roadsters come equipped with a pit crew’s worth of performance parts.
Starting with its looks, the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Motorsport Collector’s Edition reflects an F1 W12 E Performance race car. These cars feature a color palette that ranges from silver metallic to obsidian black metallic and rides on a set of 21-inch AMG 10-twin-spoke forged wheels in a matte-black finish with PETRONAS-colored rim flanges. The PETRONAS color can also be seen on the roadster’s front apron, side sills panels, and rear diffuser. In addition, all models come standard with a black electric soft top.
Other standard equipment on the SL 63 Motorsport Collector’s Edition includes the AMG Aerodynamics package. This package adds a larger rear diffuser and flicks on the front and rear aprons. The AMG Night package and the AMG Night package II are also included to further sharpen the roadster’s styling with black chrome.
Inside, buyers can use black Nappa leather/MICROCUT microfiber with either red or yellow topstitching and AMG emblems on the head restraints. In addition to AMG carbon fiber trim, a heated steering wheel, and a Burmester premium 3D surround sound system.
