Who needs a windshield when you own a hypercar? If you ever decide to go with the twin-turbo V8 McLaren Elva, you won’t. That’s because the supercar is both roofless and windowless. It is what the company calls an open-cockpit, the first of its kind. After all, when you have a car that produces 804 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission drivetrain wouldn’t you want the wind in your face anyway?

The McLaren Elva goes from 0 to 62 mph in less than 3 seconds. It also can hit 124 mph in just 6.7 seconds. The construction of the car helps deal with wind distribution, as the company uses what it calls a “bubble of calm,” thanks to a virtual windshield. If you have an eye out on this car make sure to save up your pennies. Each of the 399 that McLaren is set to release will cost $1.690 million.
