As we wait with anticipation for the latest James Bond film, No Time to Die, Land Rover announced a new limited-edition variant of the Defender. The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition celebrates the brand’s 38-year association with MI6’s most cinematic spy. The Land Rover Bond Edition is limited to 300 examples and is available as the Defender 110 or 90. This limited-edition appearance package takes inspiration from the Land Rover models starring in the film.
The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition features the Extended Black appearance package with 22-inch Luna Gloss Black alloy wheels highlighting the Xenon Blue brake calipers. In addition, each Bond Edition includes a “Defender 007” badge, illuminated tread plates, and a unique touchscreen startup animation. The side-mirror puddle lamp graphic is also a bespoke 007-inspired graphic.
Under the hood of the Bond Edition Defender is a 5.0-liter V8 producing 518-hp and 460 lb.-ft of torque. The V8 allows the Defender to sprint from zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 149 mph. Sort of an Aston Martin, the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition seems like the perfect vehicle to take to the premiere of No Time to Die, set to premiere October 8, 2021.
