Jaguar is going through somewhat of a product renaissance, introducing one new model after another. We’re seen them introduce the XE, refresh the XF, and now their newest addition to the family is the Jaguar F-PACE, featured at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
We’ve had a fairly good idea what the crossover would look like, thanks to the beautiful C-X17 concept car that closely resembles the production version. Their approach to test out the market’s reaction through previewing their design with a concept car is understandable, as there is a lot hanging on Jaugar’s first attempt at the highly profitable and hotly contested luxury crossover market.
Jaguar claims that the F-PACE is a crossover for drivers. We will have to wait and see whether the on-road manners can match their claim. However, with the confidence of a state of the art all-wheel-drive system and Jaguar’s expertise in light-weight aluminum construction should mean that the F-PACE will be relatively light and nimble. To match this performance potential, a range of engines will be offered, topped by a 3.0 liter supercharged engine that should be downright saucy.
With stunning looks and driving dynamics that should be on par with other cars within the brand, Jaguar seems to have a winner in their hands.
