To celebrate the 78th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, a collaboration between IWC and Hot Wheels Racing Works has created a limited edition collectors’ watch and car set. With just 50 pieces going into production, the IWC x Hot Wheels Racing Works Watch Set embodies all the precision, detailing, and unparalleled style consumers have come to expect of these two iconic and longstanding brands. Sharing united values, both IWC and Hot Wheels were created by innovators. Hot Wheels combined the ambition of American Elliot Handler, co-founder of Mattel, with rocket scientists and GM car designers to create a toy that outperformed others on the market. Similarly, IWC was founded by Florentine Ariosto Jone, combining American technology with Swiss watchmaking precision and skill.

Together, the IWC x Hot Wheels Racing Works Watch Set combines a stunning watch with a highly detailed Hot Wheels car. The 43mm watch case is made of grade 5 titanium, a material lighter and harder than steel, and highly resistant to corrosion, and one that is often used in automotive engineering. The black dial has a subtle checkered racing flag pattern around the chronograph totalizers. The case features a stunning engraving of the Hot Wheels flame logo on its side at 9 o’clock. Powering the chronograph is the IWC -manufactured 69385 caliber movement, which is visible through the smoked glass case back. The timepiece is presented on a silver and black one-piece textile strap, which reflects the color scheme of the IWC Racing Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing”.

The accompanying Hot Wheels Car is a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Racing Works Edition.” Detailed and designed by Manson Cheung, a Hot Wheels 3D Modeler who is best known for his sculpting work, the 1:64th model is one of Hot Wheels’ most detailed creations ever attempted. Only 50 pieces of the combined set will be made available, with the first set going to the auction block. Proceeds from the first sale will go to the Two Bit Circus Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps children achieve entrepreneurship dreams.
