HODINKEE is the ultimate authority for connoisseurs of wristwatches around the world. Yet, the journal’s expertise in horology doesn’t end there, as proven by the HODINKEE Eight-Day Travel Clock Limited Edition. This manually wound mechanical clock has eight days of power and a fully functional alarm. Its inspiration was evoked by HODINKEE’s discovery of 96 new-old-stock movements from its past. Those mechanisms, combined with the company’s fascination of vintage travel alarm clocks bring a blast from the past back to life.
The HODINKEE Eight-Day Travel Clock Limited Edition is made from PVD-coated steel that’s upholstered by hand in a grey shade of goat leather. Jonathan Hoefler’s eye for design graces the face of the clock by being fashioned in the Demical typeface taken from vintage wristwatches. The clock runs on a Swiss-made movement built in the small manufacture of Pontifa which has been crafting timepieces since its founding in 1850. Just 96 of these travel clocks will be built, each coming with a shell cordovan carrying case with a rich suede interior that is made by hand with the same standard of craftsmanship.
