Hamilton’s relationship with Hollywood stretches back decades, but its latest collaboration leans more heavily into narrative than nostalgia. Created for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film ‘Disclosure Day,’ two limited-edition watches appear both on screen and in Hamilton’s retail lineup, blurring the line between prop design and collectible watchmaking.

The first model, the Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm, draws from Hamilton’s long history of military-inspired field watches. A black PVD-coated stainless steel case gives the watch a subdued, tactical appearance, while the textured dial pairs beige luminous numerals with similarly aged-looking indices for a deliberately vintage tone. Inside sits Hamilton’s H-50 hand-wound movement, which delivers an 80-hour power reserve and reinforces the watch’s utilitarian character. The accompanying NATO strap completes the military aesthetic without feeling costume-like or overly distressed.

Where the Khaki Field focuses on restraint, the Jazzmaster Open Heart Automatic 40mm leans toward visual complexity. Its gradient blue dial opens partially to reveal the H-10 automatic movement beneath, allowing the rotor and bridges to become part of the design itself. The skeletonized layout catches changing light in a way that gives the watch constant movement even while sitting still. Polished stainless steel surfaces and a more refined bracelet shift the tone away from field utility and toward modern dress-sport territory, though the 80-hour power reserve remains consistent with its sibling.

Both watches feature subtle ‘Disclosure Day’ engravings on the caseback along with dedicated packaging tied to the film. Importantly, the branding remains understated. Hamilton avoids turning the collaboration into overt merchandise, allowing the watches to function independently from the movie that inspired them.

That restraint reflects Hamilton’s broader approach to cinematic partnerships. From ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ to ‘Tenet’ and ‘Interstellar,’ the brand has consistently produced watches that feel believable within their fictional worlds rather than existing solely as promotional tie-ins. The ‘Disclosure Day’ editions continue that tradition, balancing mechanical credibility with enough narrative context to appeal to collectors interested in film history.

At $745 for the Khaki Field Mechanical and $1,245 for the Jazzmaster Open Heart Automatic, the two models occupy different ends of Hamilton’s catalog while sharing the same cinematic DNA. Together, they feel less like movie memorabilia and more like thoughtfully designed watches that simply happen to live on screen as well.
