Trail running has become one of the more demanding proving grounds for wearable technology, pushing brands to balance navigation, battery life, and durability without turning a watch into a wrist-mounted brick. Amazfit’s new Cheetah 2 Ultra enters that increasingly competitive category with an emphasis on long-distance endurance and off-grid usability.
The watch features a 40 mm case topped with a Grade 5 titanium bezel and sapphire crystal, giving the lightweight chassis a more premium and rugged construction than many fitness-first competitors. Its 1.5-inch AMOLED display reaches 3,000 nits of brightness, allowing maps and performance data to remain legible under direct sunlight.
Amazfit claims the Cheetah 2 Ultra can deliver up to 33 hours of continuous mapping in Trail Running mode, while standard usage extends to roughly 30 days between charges. Navigation is handled through a dual-band, six-satellite positioning system paired with updated full-color contour maps that render 2.5 times faster and refresh 12 times quicker than previous generations.
The watch runs Zepp OS 3.5 and supports offline topographic maps, third-party training apps, and expanded recovery metrics including VO2 max and heart-rate variability tracking. Amazfit has also integrated an AI-powered coaching system intended to provide adaptive training insights during longer endurance efforts.
Positioned above the existing Cheetah 2 Pro in the company’s lineup, the Cheetah 2 Ultra is priced at $599.99. The design leans closer to the restrained proportions of a compact dive watch than the oversized aesthetic common in outdoor wearables, while features like 20-ATM water resistance and dual-frequency GPS signal clear ambitions beyond casual fitness tracking.
With titanium construction, upgraded mapping performance, and battery figures aimed at ultramarathon runners and mountain athletes, the Cheetah 2 Ultra reflects Amazfit’s continued push into the premium performance-watch segment.
