When it comes to classic sport utility vehicles, few can compete with the longevity of the Toyota Land Cruiser. The Toyota FJ43, which the Japanese auto maker built from 1970 to 1983, has an almost Jeep-like construction, only with a narrower body. The build itself has become desirable as project SUVs, thanks to the bare-bones construction of the original. And that is why FJ Company is teaming up with men’s clothing designer Todd Snyder to create the FJ Company Todd Snyder Edition G43.
The FJ Company Todd Snyder Edition G43 uses a restored steel body with the choice between a custom soft-top or hard-top option and comes packed with the brand-new Toyota 1GRE-FE 4.0L V6 engine that puts out 228 horsepower. The SUV is equipped with a manual transmission to maintain the older, sport utility feel. It also has a number of other upgrades, such as a premium sound system, back-up camera, in-dash A/C, and Red Wing upholstery leather. Colorways come in Slate Grey, Camel Tan, Oxblood Red, and Military Olive. The starting price for the 2020 release will be $185,000.
