In 1961, the Jaguar E-Type was revealed for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. This immensely impressive and ultra-popular sports car had a top speed of 150 mph. It was described by Enzo Ferrari himself as “the most beautiful car ever made.” Fast forward to 2021 and the celebratory release of the Bremont x Jaguar E-Type 60th anniversary box set has been announced. The Bremont x Jaguar E-Type 60th comes, aptly, in British racing green or a cool grey, mirroring the exact paint jobs on the six pairs of cars that Jaguar itself has produced to celebrate the anniversary. At 43mm, in a stainless-steel case, the timepiece features a host of further E-Type allusions. The black dial is based on the design of the original car’s dashboard instruments, with chamfered hour and minute hands reminiscent of the tachometer needle. Then there is the crown, which has been imprinted with the tire tread marks of the period-correct Dunlop racing tires fitted to the original E-Type’s wheels. Finally, the watch’s rotor (winding a chronometer movement with a 38-hour power reserve) is styled as a miniature alloy-spoked E-Type steering wheel.
The box set includes a chronograph as well as Bremont’s first-ever release of a Rally Timer. The Rally Timer features a stopwatch on the left and the right showcases small seconds. Both are mounted on an engine-turned backplate that can either be fitted into a car or placed on a desktop stand. Bremont is releasing only 120 pieces of the Bremont x Jaguar E-Type 60th. The release of this unique boxed set collection is ideal for anyone who loves luxury race cars and high-end chronographs.
