Bang & Olufsen has teamed up with industrial designer Cecilie Manz to create a limited edition run of the Beosound A1, a portable wireless Bluetooth speaker. The collaboration brings the luxury audio brand’s quality together with Manz’s unparalleled craftsmanship and innovative use of materials. The new Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 DUNE Crafted Edition brings users impeccable sound quality while exploring the many uses of aluminum. Created in the Factory 5 studio in Struer, Denmark, artisans have created a new technique that uses a unique aluminum metal coloring process. Each gradient design is created by hand and carefully blends two colors through an innovative and exclusive anodizing process. The color is added fully to the metal itself, making each product exceptional. This process prevents unwanted drips commonly caused by spray paints on the speaker grill that could compromise sound quality.
Inside is a 3.5-inch woofer and a 3/5-inch tweeter and, operated by a Class D amplifier module with two times 30 watts, should develop a sound pressure of at least 92 dB and a frequency range between 55 Hz and 20 kHz depict. Additionally, smartphones and tablets can be used directly as a source via Bluetooth 5.1, with this solution supporting Apple Fast Pair, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair. If desired, two speakers can also be connected to form a stereo pair via Bluetooth.
The aluminum Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 DUNE Crafted Edition speaker has a leather strap that is reminiscent of the color of sand dunes and is fitted with an aluminum plaque engraved with the Bang & Olufsen logo on one side and the number of the unique piece on the other. The unit will be available in a limited quantity of 100 speakers on March 24, 2022, from the Bang & Olufsen website.
