The headphones come with an adaptive EQ and vent system to help with pressure equalization. This is especially important when working out or when wearing the headphones on an airplane. Their setup also provides dual beamforming microphones, inward-facing microphones, dual optical sensors, plus motion and speech detecting accelerometers. The headphones also allow you to control Siri. Plus, there are several physical controls you can execute by how you tap and hold the controls.
