adidas Originals Stan Smith Roland Garros

With less than a month to go until the 2016 French Open, it’s time to get excited to watch a fuzzy yellow ball make its way back and forth on the court while female athletes make cavemen-like grunting noises. Although worn mostly for style these days, the adidas Originals Stan Smith started off as tennis shoes. The only element that harkens back to its tennis roots may be its name, but that hasn’t kept adidas from paying tribute to the French Open, often referred to as Roland Garros, with a pair of special colorways.

The adidas Originals Stan Smith Roland Garros features a luxurious floral print in rich scarlet and royal blue made from a cotton-silk fabric by French textile house Prelle. Both are mounted on a white sole with gold foil Stan Smith logos to finish off the unique look. The sneakers will drop on on May 7, just in time for the Roland Garros that starts on May 22.
