Recently unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 2020 Land Rover Defender offers a new vision of the iconic 4×4. For decades, the Defender has braved rugged terrain across the world thanks to its unrivaled off-road pedigree. The newest model ushers this iconic British vehicle into the 21st century with a reimagined design and suite of advanced technology.
Set to launch in the Spring of 2020, the new Defender will be available in four different accessory packs — Explorer, Adventure, Country, and Urban. Each version is engineered to traverse distinctly different landscapes. These Defender 110 versions will be followed by the short-wheelbase Defender 90 which will be released later in the year.
The new Land Rover Defender will take its legendary capabilities to a new level. Equipped with terrain response and locking center differential, the 4×4 can be optimized to take on whatever path you encounter on your journey. The new range of advanced technology features is what really brings the 2020 Defender to the 21st century. Onboard, this is the first Land Rover to feature the new PIVI Pro infotainment system, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
The new Land Rover updates on its predecessor’s iconic rugged good looks with an appropriately rugged yet modern design. A range of engine choices will be available worldwide, while U.S. customers will get either a turbocharged four-cylinder unit or a six-cylinder mild hybrid, badged P300 and P400 respectively.
Prices will start from $49,900 in the U.S.
