Talk about being ahead of your time. In the 1980s, the very notion of a luxury off-road vehicle was considered a bit ridiculous. Maybe that’s why, despite considerable interest from military organizations and extremely high-net-worth individuals, Lamborghini produced only 328 of the LM002.
Nicknamed the “Rambo Lambo,” the LM002 predated high-end SUV’s such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and the Bentley Bentayga by more than three decades. Given the current appetite for these vehicles (not to mention Lamborghini’s latest SUV release the Urus), it’s unsurprising that the 1988 Lamborghini LM002 currently approaching the RM/Sotheby’s auction block is attracting some serious attention.
A highly desirable early-model LM002 with a carbureted engine, this vehicle has only 33,000 miles on its original odometer and underwent an extensive mechanical/cosmetic restoration in 2017. Ride in supreme style in its luxurious wood and leather interior, while its powerful-12 engine and Pirelli Scorpion tires propel you over all manner of rough terrain.
