Brooklyn-based Grado Labs has unveiled the new Prestige Series featuring the first X Drivers. The newly built speakers are the fourth generation of drivers from the brand since the introduction of the first Grado headphone in 1991. Along with the superior sound these new drivers produce, the five headphones in the X Driver Prestige Series (SR60x, SR80x, SR125x, SR225x, SR325x) are now built with a new durable cable and new headbands.
Grado Labs’ enhanced X Series driver design encompasses a new magnetic circuit that has been revised for improved efficiency in conjunction with a newly designed voice coil and diaphragm to further reduce distortion and enhance harmonic integrity. As a result, the new Prestige X Series earphones are easier to drive across a variety of devices and deliver the best audio performance possible. Nylon-braided sheathing used in the cable design offers more durability and flexibility, as well as preventing kinking and twisting. The newly-designed padded headbands have a leather aesthetic but are a vegan-friendly man-made material and have been purposefully built to enhance comfort and ensure longer listening sessions. The X Driver Prestige Series by Grado Labs has the DNA core performance and design of the original Grado Prestige while also having the enhancements that take the X Series to the next level.
