Wellen has just released a line of performance hoodies and henleys, dubbed the Summer Seawool Collection. The brand routinely partners with responsible factories around the world to craft soft, sustainable apparel, and it maintains a large, dedicated following. The Seawool fabric used in the collection literally incorporates oyster shells and recycled plastic into it, representing an incredible step forward for sustainable textiles. It shares many of the same qualities that make merino wool so popular — soft to the touch, temperature regulating, quick-drying, antimicrobial, and durable — while preventing a great deal of waste from ending up in landfills and oceans.
With its natural UV protection, the Wellen Summer Seawool Collection was built for sunny summer days on the water — but the performance hoodies and henleys can be counted on to keep the wearer comfortable even when the sun goes down. The understated Seawool Hoodie design includes a drawstring-free hood and a dropped rear hem and is devoid of ribbing at the hem or cuffs in order to afford better airflow. Wellen’s Seawool Collection has also grown to include a matching Seawool Henley that bestows the traditional two-button-collar long-sleeve with the same upcycled bottle and oyster shell construction.
