Building upon the success of its lightweight and streamlined Electrified S, the “city-proof” battery-assisted bicycle manufacturer VanMoof is back with the Electrified S2 and X2. Although they differ in basic frame shape (a traditional S-frame vs. a Tokyo-inspired unisex X-frame), both of these bikes are custom-ordered to fit the exact height of the rider.
First and foremost, these are outstanding pedal bikes with a fully enclosed drivetrain and an automatic chain-tensioning system. When you want a break from pedaling, these bikes can draw upon a removable LG cell battery to power a 250-watt to 500-watt front-wheel hub motor with four different power levels. With the assistance of the pedal-charged motor, riders can travel as fast as 34 kilometers per hour. Other features of the VanMoof S2 and X2 e-Bikes include a tamper-proof anti-theft device, location-tracking and function-locking capabilities, and an accompanying digital app that helps you remember your parking location and control your operational settings.
