Named after the Folsom arrowhead, The James Brand Folsom was the third knife in the brand’s line-up, and it has since been one of their best sellers. In the Fall of 2020, the Folsom received a bit of an overhaul. The blade steel was updated to VG-10 for improved corrosion resistance and better edge retention. The James Brand also added a new reversible and removable deep-carry clip that allows the Folsom to ride deep in a pocket for a more minimal aesthetic. Designed as an affordable, everyday carry-oriented liner lock knife, the Folsom does a little bit of everything for everyone.
The James Brand Folsom is thin and light — weighing in at 3.4 ounces — and not too big, measuring 6.75 inches when opened. Deployment of the Folsom is done via a triangular-shaped thumb hole with rounded-off corners. The contoured micarta handle scales provide a comfortable grip and a classic look. After recently adding some new colors, the Folsom now comes in five variants: white with a black coated blade, black with a satin or black coated blade, and blue or “electric moss” with a satin blade.
