There’s an old saying in Korea that goes “a rice cake that looks good is also good to eat.” While we’re not sure what qualifies as a handsome rice cake, we can tell when a kitchen appliance looks better than it has any right to do so. So if we extend the same logic of the adage to kitchen appliances, the food prepared with these good looking appliances should have no issue making our food taste better. Whether this is true or not, Smeg has decided to add a bit of design flair to their line of small appliances.
By delving into their past for inspiration, Smeg has designed the 2 Slice Toaster in collaboration with Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti of deepdesign as part of their 50’s Retro Collection of small appliances. The powder coated steel body and stainless steel ball lever knob all contribute to the retro inspired styling of this toaster, and should perfectly compliment the Union Jack fridge in your kitchen.
