Honda designed the Motocompo to fold into a car trunk; Seiko has compressed it again, this time onto a wrist. The Seiko 5 Sports x Honda Motocompo HDB010 turns the 1981 scooter’s industrial graphics and loading instructions into a compact 36.4 mm automatic field watch.
A yellow dial carries a black horizontal band and Honda wordmark, matching one of the Motocompo’s most recognizable schemes. The “Automatic” text at six o’clock borrows the scooter’s typeface. Even the crown reads “TURN,” a reference to its fuel cock, while the black nylon strap marks “CARRYING POINT” and “INSERTION POINT” where the original machine indicated how it should be secured inside the Honda City.
The black-coated steel case measures 12.5 mm thick and 44.4 mm lug to lug. Curved Hardlex covers the dial, water resistance is 328 feet, and Seiko’s automatic 4R36 movement provides day-date display and roughly 41 hours of power reserve. The specification is familiar within Seiko’s accessible sports-watch catalog; the disciplined translation of product graphics is what makes this edition distinct.
Production is limited to 8,000 numbered pieces, each with a red-tinted display back and Motocompo silhouette. The watch joins Seiko’s 5 Sports Field series in September 2026. U.S. pricing is listed at $495.
