Salomon’s XT family has become as familiar on pavement as it is on dirt, which makes a genuinely new silhouette more interesting than another archival colorway. The Salomon XT-EVO keeps the line’s technical language but reorganizes it around a cleaner, more contained upper.

A textile and synthetic shell uses SensiFit externally and EndoFit internally to hold the midfoot from both sides. QuickLace keeps adjustment fast, while an OrthoLite sockliner handles step-in cushioning. Beneath it, an EnergyCell midsole works with Salomon’s agileCHASSIS system to stabilize the foot without the tall foam stack seen on current ultra-distance runners.

The outsole uses Mud Contagrip for loose, soft, and uneven ground. At 13 ounces with a 10mm drop, the XT-EVO is not pretending to be a featherweight race shoe; the emphasis is support, durability, and the structured ride that helped move Salomon footwear from mountain equipment into everyday wardrobes.

Layered side panels and the wraparound chassis remain visible, but the upper is less visually fragmented than many XT models.
The XT-EVO launches in the United States on September 2. It costs $200 and is offered as a unisex model in three initial colorways.
