The XT-4’s second life as a city sneaker has never fully erased its trail-running hardware. The latest Salomon XT-4 OG GORE-TEX leans back into that functional origin, adding waterproof protection without replacing the chassis and outsole that gave the shoe its technical character.

A GORE-TEX membrane sits beneath a synthetic-and-textile upper with anti-debris mesh, SensiFit construction and a protective toe cap. Salomon’s one-pull Quicklace system tucks into a lace pocket rather than leaving loose ends exposed.

Underfoot, the full-length Agile Chassis Skeleton works with a dual-density EVA midsole, molded OrthoLite sockliner and Mud Contagrip rubber outsole. The combination is still overbuilt for pavement, but that is largely the point.

At roughly 14 ounces with a 10mm drop, the XT-4 OG GTX is closer to its long-distance trail ancestry than many fashion-led Salomon collaborations suggest. New seasonal colorways—including Coyote Brown, Willow and Dragon Fire—let the structure do most of the visual work rather than changing the platform itself.
The XT-4 OG GORE-TEX is priced at $220 in the United States. Current and incoming colorways are listed through Salomon, with availability varying by color and size.
