MAD Paris, a company that transforms iconic timepieces into one-of-a-kind styles, has given this Milgauss a camouflage DLC coating as well as a matte black dial, which represents a change from the classic orange detailing of the original Milgauss. With DLC coatings, intricate engravings, and diamond embellishments being the signature MAD Paris treatments, the refurbishing process typically takes four to six weeks. The main deviation from the iconic Milgauss is moving away from the classic orange detailing and offering instead a matte-black face.
First introduced by Rolex in 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Milgauss was advertised as “designed to meet the demands of the scientific community working around electromagnetic fields.” The first of its kind, it is capable of withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss.
