Silence is easy for an electric luxury SUV. Keeping the hardware that makes a Range Rover useful away from pavement is harder. The production Range Rover Electric treats electrification as a powertrain change rather than an excuse to soften the original formula.

Its 118.5kWh usable battery uses 344 prismatic cells and an 800-volt architecture, accepting up to 350kW DC charging. Range Rover says a 10-to-80-percent charge takes about 22 minutes, while 10 minutes at a suitable charger can add up to 137 miles of WLTP range.

Twin 260kW motors deliver a combined 550 PS, roughly 542 hp, and 627 lb-ft of torque, good for a claimed 0–60 mph run in 4.3 seconds.

More important is how that capability is managed. The floor-integrated battery works with a new Integrated Traction Management system and single-pedal off-road control, allowing the driver to modulate the vehicle at low speed without switching between accelerator and brake. Wading depth reaches 900mm (about 35 inches), and the Range Rover retains air suspension and rear-wheel steering. Claimed real-world range is 333 miles, with WLTP testing reaching 372 miles.

The Range Rover charging ecosystem supports home and public charging. UK orders open from £154,070; U.S. pricing and EPA range have not yet been announced.
