Porsche enthusiasts refer to cars with modifications as “outlaw.” Over the years, the term outlaw evolved into a subculture and worn as a badge of honor amongst Porsche owners who modify their cars. The phrase is mostly associated with the Porsche 356, the first model exploited by the outlaw scene. Suppose you want to get in on the scene. You’re in luck because Canepa Cars is currently selling a 1963 Porsche 356B with a secret under its unassuming deep gloss black paint.
The restoration was done by Willhoit Restoration, who took the 356B and started by upgrading it with a Willhoit sport suspension kit. The air-cooled 1925cc engine now flexes a healthy 130 horsepower through an upgraded four-speed transaxle built by Rancho Transmissions and exhaling through a KK Sebring stainless-steel exhaust. This outlaw is built to run but can stop on a dime thanks to a set of Porsche 356C disc brakes with slotted rotors hidden behind 16-inch HRBB alloy wheels. Interior luxuries include a factory electric sunroof and full leather interior. The car looks original, but the wheels and 356 GT deco trim would tip off a Porsche purist into suspecting there is more in this car beyond leather seats. This 356B outlaw is built to be a smooth criminal as it flies under the radar with a royal flush tucked under its hood.
