Oscar Mayer Wienerfleet

Oscar Mayer adds two new vehicles to its existing Wienerfleet – the WienerCycle three-wheel moped and the WienerDrone unmanned aircraft.

A timeless icon of American kitsch, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has been beloved by generations of automotive and hot dog enthusiasts. An original creation of Oscar Mayer’s nephew, Carl G Mayer, the first Wienermobile appeared in 1936. Since that time, a number of hot dog-shaped vehicles have carried the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile name, including the pint-sized WienerMini and the massive WienerRover.

On July 4th, 2017, Oscar Mayer is adding two new vehicles to its existing Wienerfleet. The company will unveil both of these vehicles at an Independence Day celebrations in Weiner, Arkansas.

The first member of Wienerfleet to travel on three wheels, the WienerCycle is an 8.5-horsepower moped that Oscar Mayer describes as “ideal for tricky urban deliveries.” The moped’s sidecar includes a warming station that can hold up to eight hot dogs.

The new WienerDrone takes the Wienerfleet to new heights. Billed as the world’s first unmanned “hot dog-carrying” aircraft,” the WienerDrone can travel up to a mile in distance at altitudes of 1,200 feet. Designed to provide service for one, this drone can carry only a single hot dog at a time.

Oscar Mayer’s head of marketing Greg Guidotti touts the Wienerfleet as an example of the company’s ongoing mission of widespread hot dog distribution. “We’re getting our new hot dog in everyone’s hands – and going to great lengths to do this.”
